Haiti Earth Quake Survivors Are In Dire Need Of Your Help

On Tuesday January 12th, a tedious scale 7.0 earthquake strike Haiti, now ten miles out from the capital of Port-au-Prince. The Red Cross estimates that three million survivors are affected and will need urgently aid. At Greater Good Network, we have strong ties with the artisans and communities living and working in Haiti. Partners in Health staff in Haiti and somewhere else are coordinating to react professionally and effectively to the most urgent desires in the field. PIH’s corresponding relief efforts influence the skills of more than 120 doctors and almost 500 nurses and nursing assistants. According to PIH news blog they have already begun to implement a two-part approach to address the instant need for emergency medical care in Port-au-Prince and are organizing the logistics to get the medical staff and supplies needed for setting up field hospital sites in Port-au-Prince where they can triage patients, provide emergency care, and send those who need surgical treatments or more difficult treatment to our functioning hospitals and surgical facilities. Operating and procedure rooms are supplied and operational for surgeries and they have converted a church in modify into a large triage area. |
